Error Corrections:

- TimeShift freezing issue

- Issue where extra time added to the end of recordings using the EPG was ignored

- TimeSearch with seconds in recordings

- FF and RW resetting recordings to 00:00:00

- Flickering Subtitles (when subtitle length longer than 4500ms)

- DivX Graphic Subtitles Red Color Removed

- Some Nero Digital Subtitles missing

- Nero Digital playback stability issue

- SCART Pass through in Standby mode

Harddisk file system improvements:

To better prevent premature full harddisk, caused by damaged file system, and thereby 0kB recording files, which caused "Unsupported Codec Error" message at playback.

For enabling the improved harddisk file system handling you have to reset your harddisk.

WARNING: All Recordings, and Media files on the harddisk will be deleted. To save data, first backup on PC using FTP.

How to reset your harddisk:

To do so, press (Eject; Back; 6; 7; 8) on your remote and wait 60 seconds. When you are done, press SETUP on your remote, the message "Hard Disk not setup" should be stated on the top right corner of your screen. If the recording time left is still stated (ex: 85 Hrs Free), the reset didn't work and you will need to do the procedure again. Then insert the firmware CD and follow the on-screen instructions

When the harddisk is reset, install the new 1.1.4 firmware on the player and format the harddisk during the following Quick Setup at start up. For installing the new firmware and running Quick Setup, please read instruction in KiSS Firmware Guide & KiSS Setup Guide

Warning: As with most other file systems, turning off the power while recording or writing to the harddisk may damage the file system, and cause loss of recordings and other data. To prevent damaging the file system on the harddisk always power off (mains switch or mains connection) the DP-558 when it is in Standby mode ("- - -" is shown in the display).

Added Features:

Timeshifting during recordings.

What can you do?

You can start watching a TV program while it is still recording even though it is scheduled through EPG or manually. You can fast forward, rewind and pause as during Time Shifting.

How does it work?

While DP-558 is recording in stand-by, Power On by pressing the green remote button, and press play. You will now jump to the start of the recording and playback starts, while it is still recording the rest of the scheduled TV program.

If you schedule multiple recordings after each other and start watching the first one "delayed Time shifted", then the player will start recording the next one scheduled program while you are watching the first recorded program. In the end of the first recording the DP-558 will skip to real-time viewing. Press play to start playback from the beginning of the now ongoing recording.

Shortcut to EPG

In TV mode use the "Title Menu" to jump to the EGP Favorite channels overview.

NB: This is only available if you have the player connected to the internet.

Naming of Manual Recordings

When starting manual recording by pressing the "REC" button on the TV, the file will be named with the name of the TV-Program, if the data is available from the EPG.

Manual Recording Time fits the TV-program recorded

Manual recording can automatically stop at the ending of the current identified TV program.

When pressing the Record button once for manual recording, and the TV-Program is known by DP-558 through EPG, the recording is continued to the end of the EPG identified TV-program and stops. If a longer recording time is required, press the Record button again and 5 minutes is added. You can press multiple times on the Record button and add more time. This is continued in steps up to half an hour pr. button press until it returns to the first option of recording until the TV program ends. However, the last option in this circular list, is to record constantly until the harddisk is full. This is identified by “REC†in the DP-558 front panel display.

Warning message when trying to record manually on a full harddisk.

Time Seek Buttons added in recordings:

Some of the remote control number keypad buttons can now be used to skip forward and backwards in steps of different time interval, as alternative to use the Farst Forward and Rewind buttons:

Backwards: Forward:

1 = -30sec. 3 = +30 sec.

4 = -1.30min. 6 = +1.30 min.

7 = -4min. 9 = +4 min.

0 = +30 min.

Example: You are playing a recording and the elapsed time is 1 hour, 14 minutes and 40 seconds. When pressing keypad number 6 on the remote, the DP-558 jumps approx. one and a half minute ahead in time to approx 1:16:10 and continue playback.

More advanced Hebrew subtitle support.

Die beiden FWs für 80 und 200GB sind übrigens absolut identisch.

Haben beide die selben Loader und romfs Checksummen.

Was das bedeutet kann ich leider nicht sicher sagen ;)
